Mary Holliday
Competition Choreographer

Specialties: Tap, Jazz, Intro to Dance

Mary is a former student of ISD and has a master’s degree in Music Therapy and Music Education from Nazareth College. She teaches all levels of tap and jazz and is a favorite teacher of our preschoolers. She is also currently employed as a full-time music therapist with Questar. Mary integrates her love of music and rhythm into even her youngest classes. Mary’s tap choreography is notorious for intricate rhythms, tough technique and fast footwork. Mary’s tap choreography, including an a capella routine, have won special recognition at regional competitions.

How would you describe your teaching style?

“My teaching style is inclusive and encouraging - try to make everyone feel like they have something to contribute and expect their dancing partners to do the same thing - I've had a few classes who cheered their classmates on when they were learning something new and clapped for them whether they were successful or not - it was the cutest thing!”
