2017-2018 Season Policies

We try our best to provide you with information throughout the dance year in many different forms (email, handouts, signs and verbal communication), however you may have additional questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact your teacher, office staff or the studio Director at any time during the year.

Registration: Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do not reserve spots for returning students and cannot guarantee a spot for dancers who enroll later in the year.

Tuition: Dance tuition is a yearly rate divided into nine (9) monthly payments. Monthly tuition is due the first week of every month. There is a five dollar ($5) fee for late payments. No refunds for tuition paid in advance, including full-year tuition. To receive tuition discounts, multiple-class tuition must be paid once monthly, in one payment (not in installments or separate checks).

Costume Deposit: Costume deposits are required by December 15, 2017 to indicate the student will participate in the recital. Once a deposit is paid, a costume is ordered and you are responsible for the full costume price, even if you choose to drop the class at a later date.  The costume companies do not allow us to cancel individual orders.

Class Placements: All class placements are at the discretion of the teacher and/or Studio Director.

Dropping or Changing Classes: To drop a class or make changes to this registration, you must notify the studio. Otherwise you will remain enrolled and continue to be responsible for all tuition regardless of attendance.

Extended Student Absences: Tuition is due on a continuous monthly basis regardless of attendance due to family vacations, sports, musicals, or other voluntary activities. No refunds will be given for extended absences. Please contact your teacher in advance as soon as you know of an expected extended absence. Participation in class or recital after the absence may be allowed only at the discretion of your teacher and the Studio Director. Extended absences with no notice may result in removal from the recital piece or adjustment of class level.

Recital & Multiple Classes: We divide our classes into multiple shows to keep the show lengths reasonable. Families who enroll in multiple classes may need to attend multiple shows. Families that are required to attend more than one show will be given two (2) complimentary tickets for each additional show after their first two are purchased.

Dress Code: Proper dance attire includes dance clothes (no jeans or large jewelry) and clean dance shoes (not street shoes). Tights must be worn with shorts – no bare legs. For girls, long hair must be pulled back off the face. Additional dress code requirements are necessary depending on dance style and teacher preference. No gum, food or drinks other than water in class.

Winter Weather & Studio Closings: The dance year is based on 32 classes – our calendar allows for a few extra days in the event of a snow day. A make-up class will be offered if there are excessive snow days or closings. There is no extra charge if the number of classes exceeds 32.

Class Cancellation: We reserve the right to change or cancel classes due to enrollment. If a class is cancelled a refund will be granted or alternate class suggested.
