FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESIONS

How long can I expect a recital to last?

We aim to keep each of our recitals under two and a half hours, including a 15-minute intermission.

Where do performers stay during the recital?

We have assigned seats for all of our dancers so that they can enjoy the performance. All student seating is monitored by our faculty. Our youngest dancers may return to their families once they are done performing.

I took pictures at an event. Can I give a copy to the studio?

Yes! We would love to share your photos with the rest of the studio! If you have a few photos, email is the quickest way. If you have more, drop off a CD, flash drive or zip file to the Main Office or your teacher.

Recital Information

**PICTURE REQUEST: Have dance pictures from class this year? We need pictures for our recital slideshow (playing before each show)! Email or drop them off on a CD or removable storage at the studio!**

The annual recitals are held in June to end our school year. Participation in the recital is optional; however for most students, it is the highlight of the year. After a student has worked hard all year, it is a feeling of personal accomplishment to perform on stage beautifully costumed before family and friends. This special stage experience helps to build poise and self-confidence in every dancer.

costumes

For each class, we measure and order a recital costume for students. Students are measured during class in November and December and costume orders are placed by the studio in early January. A $25 costume deposit is due December 11, 2010. The balance is due in March 2011. Please check with the office if you have a question about your costume fee or order.

To make your life easier, tights are included with your recital costume if your teacher chooses!

Students with overdue balances may not take their costumes home until the balance is paid. Once we place costume orders in January, students are responsible for any balance due. In addition, please check with your teacher to find out what accessories and hairstyle they would like for the recital performance.

Class photos are taken at the studio during class time by our professional photographer, Denis Nally. There is no obligation to purchase these photos nor is there a sitting fee. We take a group photograph which will be displayed in the studio followed by individual or small group photos. We ask that for small groups and individual photos, please only use our photographer's time if you intend to purchase the photos.

On Picture Day: Students should have their hair neatly done. Older students may choose to wear light make-up. Please arrive in costume, as we have limited changing areas, unless your teacher instructs otherwise. Parents are allowed in the classroom at the discretion of the photographer and teacher. program

THE AD DEADLINE FOR THE 2011 PROGRAM HAS PASSED.

Adding to the theater experience, a professional program is prepared for our Recital. The program (which each ticket holder receives free of charge) lists each dance and every performer. It also contains bios of our graduating seniors, well wishes from parents and 5, 10 & 15 year student recognition.

Within the program, advertising spaces are offered for sale, where local businesses (or parents) can wish the dancers luck on their performance. Please ask at the office if you are interested in advertising in our program. Click here to purchase a one-line good luck message.
