Congratulations on a great weekend! We had FOUR wonderful shows - thank you to the faculty, volunteers and parents for making our second year at the Palace Theatre a memorable one! And of course, congratulations to the stars (our dancers) for making the seasons come to life during their fabulous show!

2011 Picture Days:
W Sand Lake: April 25 - 30, 2011
E Greenbush: May 2 - 7, 2011
Class photos are taken at the studio during class time by our professional photographer, Denis J. Nally. There is no obligation to purchase these photos nor is there a sitting fee. We take a group photograph which will be displayed in the studio followed by individual or small group photos. We ask that for small groups and individual photos, please only use our photographer's time if you intend to purchase the photos.
On Picture Day: Students should have their hair neatly done. Older students may choose to wear light make-up. Please arrive in costume, as we have limited changing areas, unless your teacher instructs otherwise. Parents are allowed in the classroom at the discretion of the photographer and teacher. CAMERAS (of any kind) ARE PROHIBITED IN CLASSROOMS ON PICTURE DAY.

W Sand Lake: Tuesday, June 7 from 4-7pm
E Greenbush: Wed. June 8 & Thurs. June 9 from 3-8pm
On Picture Viewing Day: Our photographer returns to the studio on Viewing Day with the photo proofs. Don't forget to sign up for your picture viewing time on picture day. You can view all of your photos, choose your favorites and place an order with him. If you missed picture viewing day, please email or call the studio.
Winter Break: February 19-25
The studio is closed for Winter Break February 19 - 25. Classes resume Saturday, February 26. Because of all of the recent snow days, some teachers will be offering make-up days over break. See below for snow day make-up classes.

Recital Dates Announced!
We are excited to announce that the spring Recital will be held Saturday, June 4 & 5, 2011 at The Palace Theatre! This is our second year at the Palace Theatre and we are thrilled to return and give our students the chance to perform in the beautiful historic theater.
Holiday Break: Dec. 23 - Jan. 1
Both studios are closed for Holiday Break Thursday, December 23, 2010 through Satuday, January 1, 2011. Classes resume Monday, January 3. Have a great holiday and we will see you in the New Year!

New Adult Classes Starting
Adult Tap is continuing for a second session - beginning Thursday 7:30-8:45pm at the East Greenbush studio.
Salsa Aerobics is back! We will be starting a 6-week session in January 2011. Fulfill your New Year's Resolution and burn some calories while having fun! Call the studio to sign up. We are looking to offer a Wed. 8-8:45pm class and possibly a Saturday morning 8:15-9am class.
Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 23-27
Both studios are closed for Thanksgiving Break Tuesday, November 23 through Saturday, November 27. Regular classes will resume Monday, November 29.
We are excited to offer FREE dance classes at the E. Greenbush on Wednesday, Nov. 24, taught by ISD faculty alumni Samantha Corvino, Jessie Sector and Bryanna Kiselauskas. These classes are open to all students currently enrolled in the studio age 9 and up. Call the Main Office (477-2441) to reserve your spot by Monday, November 22.

Stop by and check out the studio, register for classes or order dancewear. We are opening up the studio for four days this week!

Congratulations Comp Team
Congratulations on two stellar weekends at competition! The ISD Comp Team competed at StarQuest Dance Competition (March 18-21) and Dance America (March 27) against other regional dance teams. For some of these dancers, it was their first time competing.
Everyone performed extremely well, with our studio winning several overall high scores! On Sunday, March 28, our dancers and teachers participated in an all-day dance workshop with master teachers.
Competition Team Community Performance
Our Competition Team performed for the elderly residents of the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center (Cohoes, NY) on Sunday, Feb. 28.
The team, ages 8 to 18, performed a variety of routines, from tap and jazz to musical theater and modern. The residents especially enjoyed the tribute to Newsies, "Seize the Day", "All That Jazz" - a 1920's, flapper-inspired tap dance (pictured left), and "Chaplin's Rag".

Join us at the Teal Ribbon Walk/Run on September 13th!
The Isabelle School of Dance participates in the Caring Together Teal Ribbon 1 Mile Walk/5K Run each year in honor and memory of the studio's founder, Barbara Hughes. Miss Barbara was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2000 and used the resources provided by Caring Together during her illness. We will always remember Miss Barbara as the loving teacher she was, bringing the joy of dance to hundreds of local children.
This year, the walk/run will be held in Washington Park in Albany on Sunday, September 13 at 9am. The walk is one mile long and the run is a 5K. The Walk/Run is held annually and is a huge fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Prevention. Last year, over $90,000 was raised from this event.

Congratulations to Jessie, Jesann, Elizabeth and Mary!
Four of our Senior members of the Competition Team were selected to join prestigious summer dance programs! We are so proud of all of them.
Jesann Prashaw & Jessie Sector auditioned and were selected to join the Dance Olympus Summer Tour as VIP Dancers. They toured the US, visiting Boston, Houston and many more cities and demonstrators and assistants for some of the best master teachers in the dance industry.
Elizabeth Mateer was chosen by audition to participate in the prestigious Interlochen Ballet & Modern dance program.
Mary Campbell's solo performed at Dance America Competition qualified her to participate in the Dancer of the Year program (DOTY) with Dance America in New York City. Mary will dance with hundreds of other qualifiers and compete for the title.
We are so proud of all our dancers!
