"Seasons In Motion" Recital 2010
Congratulations on a great weekend! We had FOUR wonderful shows - thank you to the faculty, volunteers and parents for making our transition to the Palace Theatre an easy one! And of course, congratulations to the stars (our dancers) for making the seasons come to life during their fabulous show!

Rehearsal Dates: May 17, 19, 21
Rehearsal dates were announced this week. Times for each class will be posted in the beginning of May.
East Greenbush classes: Monday and Friday, May 17 & 19 @ Maple Hill H.S.
West Sand Lake classes: Wednesday, May 19 @ Averill Park High School.
Congratulations Comp Team
Congratulations on two stellar weekends at competition! The ISD Comp Team competed at StarQuest Dance Competition (March 18-21) and Dance America (March 27) against other regional dance teams. For some of these dancers, it was their first time competing.
Everyone performed extremely well, with our studio winning several overall high scores! On Sunday, March 28, our dancers and teachers participated in an all-day dance workshop with master teachers.
Spring Break: April 2-9
The studio is closed for Spring Break April 2 - 9. Classes resume Saturday, April 10.
Miss Caitlyn & Miss Jesann's Friday classes will be holding a snow day make-up class on Friday, April 2 for anyone who can attend.
Competition Team Community Performance
Our Competition Team performed for the elderly residents of the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center (Cohoes, NY) on Sunday, Feb. 28.
The team, ages 8 to 18, performed a variety of routines, from tap and jazz to musical theater and modern. The residents especially enjoyed the tribute to Newsies, "Seize the Day", "All That Jazz" - a 1920's, flapper-inspired tap dance (pictured left), and "Chaplin's Rag".

Recital Dates Announced!
We are excited to announce that the spring Recital will be held Saturday, June 5 & 6, 2010 at The Palace Theatre! This is our first year at the Palace Theatre and we are thrilled to offer all of our students the chance to perform in the beautiful historic theater.
Holiday Break: Dec. 22 - Jan. 1
Both studios are closed for Holiday Break Tuesday, December 22, 2009 through Friday, January 1, 2010. Classes resume Saturday, January 2. Have a great holiday and we will see you in the New Year!

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-28
Both studios are closed for Thanksgiving Break Wednesday, November 25 through Saturday, November 28. Regular classes will resume Monday, November 30.
We are excited to offer FREE modern classes at the E. Greenbush on Wednesday, Nov. 25, taught by ISD faculty alumni Samantha Corvino. Intermediate class 5-6:30pm and Advanced 6:30-8pm. These classes are open to all students currently enrolled in a modern class, ages 10+ or any Competition Team member. Call the Main Office (477-2441) to reserve your spot.
Join us at the Teal Ribbon Walk/Run on September 13th!
The Isabelle School of Dance participates in the Caring Together Teal Ribbon 1 Mile Walk/5K Run each year in honor and memory of the studio's founder, Barbara Hughes. Miss Barbara was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2000 and used the resources provided by Caring Together during her illness. We will always remember Miss Barbara as the loving teacher she was, bringing the joy of dance to hundreds of local children.
This year, the walk/run will be held in Washington Park in Albany on Sunday, September 13 at 9am. The walk is one mile long and the run is a 5K. The Walk/Run is held annually and is a huge fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Prevention. Last year, over $90,000 was raised from this event.

Congratulations to Jessie, Jesann, Elizabeth and Mary!
Four of our Senior members of the Competition Team were selected to join prestigious summer dance programs! We are so proud of all of them.
Jesann Prashaw & Jessie Sector auditioned and were selected to join the Dance Olympus Summer Tour as VIP Dancers. They toured the US, visiting Boston, Houston and many more cities and demonstrators and assistants for some of the best master teachers in the dance industry.
Elizabeth Mateer was chosen by audition to participate in the prestigious Interlochen Ballet & Modern dance program.
Mary Campbell's solo performed at Dance America Competition qualified her to participate in the Dancer of the Year program (DOTY) with Dance America in New York City. Mary will dance with hundreds of other qualifiers and compete for the title.
